Common Arm Pain

Arm pain often shows as an ache in the forearm, elbow, or upper arm, sharp twinges with gripping, or tingling into the hand. Common patterns include tennis elbow like pain with gripping, golfer elbow on the inner elbow, biceps or triceps strain, and nerve irritation. Sometimes pain is referred from the neck or shoulder. Sleep, work tasks, and sport can influence symptoms.

Common Causes

Causes often relate to repeated gripping, mouse or tool use, lifting or carrying, changes in gym or sport load, and long periods at a desk or on the phone. Neck or shoulder stiffness can add strain. Sleep position and stress may increase sensitivity. If pain follows a fall, there is marked weakness, or you notice persistent numbness, please see your GP.
